Vulnerability
So I started off the week putting a whole lot of vulnerable out there. And I have to say that it opened up a whole lot of love in infinite directions and surprising places.
I’ve confirmed what I have always known to be true … vulnerability is the best kind of strength there is. I don’t have a lot to say this week to be honest except this:
There’s no time to waste, hiding the truth.
There’s no reason to protect your heart.
There’s nothing better than two people speaking from their most open places.
There’s nothing more sexy than saying it like it is.
There’s nothing more profound than exposing what you know to be true, right now.
Because here’s the deal…. In my humble opinion as always:
There are too many places to hide.
There are too many opportunities to hit the delete or edit button.
There are too many screens to post an untruth.
There are too many people hiding from who there are in fear of being judged.
Brene Brown said, “We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable places to be deeply seen and known.”
Vulnerability is the key to deep happiness, contentment and unconditional love. And here are a few other things I want to share:
I for one am not going to spend one more minute shielding my heart from one more potential expansion.
I for one am tired of not saying how I feel, when I feel it.
I for one am not about to be ashamed of my past – it’s made me who I am today.
I am attracting deep, authentic sharing and enlightened relationships because of this vulnerability.
I read Brene Brown’s book years ago. The pen marks, highlights and “ear marked” pages are worn from my tears. I learned so much and am beyond grateful for the times I’ve cracked open my heart again, and again and again.
I’ve put my heart on my sleeve many times and sometimes, it got stomped on. And sometimes it got laughed at. And sometimes it was mistreated. But you know what …
The key to vulnerability is knowing who you are and what you are made of.
And never, ever being ashamed or afraid of your light. And always, and I mean always, being willing to step into the light over and over again … regardless of the unknown.
Personally … it’s the only way to live … but that’s just me.
