Divine Vigilance
This week has been a whirlwind – optimistically speaking of course. So much happening isn’t there? Some mornings I wake up so on edge, wondering what’s going to come down the “pipeline” of my life. What type of “news” is going to pop up on my iPad (because I can’t figure out HOW to get that damn notification OFF!) that may or may not affect me.
The phrase “divine vigilance” came to me at the beginning of the week and as always, it has evolved in it’s meaning.
There’s just so much in flux right now, you know? And I do feel like we NEED (yes I said NEED), to be awake; not just one eye open, hitting the snooze button; but both eyes wide open.
I had to look up vigilance so I could properly and fully drop into the theme:
vigilance: the action or state of keeping careful
watch for possible danger or difficulties.
This word was and still is, so perfect for where we’re at right now as a country. It’s almost too multi-dimensional to really explain but I’m going to give it a shot.
I’ve been saying this for a very long time:
It’s time to pay attention.
It’s time to take heed.
It’s time to stop being distracted by all the “shiny” things outside of ourselves.
It’s time to take ownership of it all.
It’s time to be accountable for our actions.
It’s time to stand up for what we believe in … not just some of the time, but all of the time.
It’s time to listen in and tune into our own Divine nature.
It’s time to pray and sit in circle.
It’s time to see beyond the illusions and limits we have created for ourselves.
It’s time to go back to our roots and love the whole of ourselves.
We must pay attention, but not with a fear that is palpable. Not with a vengeful heart. Not with an egoic stance.
But with open, loving eyes that are connected to Source. With a gaze that is internal first and that comes from the heart and not the mind. With a connection to the Divine that nothing besides truth could even be heard.
In doing that we recognize love first. We show compassion first. We lead from a place so Divinely guided that all our decisions and choices are from Source and not anything besides that.
Will we fall into ego … for sure. My question is, how many breaths will it take before you to come back to the heart? Back to Source? Back to the Divine?
Keep it short if you can. It’s important to pay attention and to be away of the “dangers” in our life yes – but it’s equally important to recognize them as Divine action.
