Retreat counts as 20 hours towards your 300 Hour Embody Truth Teacher Training.
Summer Solstice - another power gate of the Wheel of the Year, the marriage of Heaven and Earth and technically is the shortest night and longest day of the year. The solstice, sometimes called midsummer, is technically the first day of summer.
Honoring the solstice can remind us just how precious each day and season is, because the truth of its passing away is also acknowledged. Gifts are appreciated and seeds are planted.
Since ancient times, solstices and equinoxes have been essential and sacred points in the year to honor the flow of life on earth. This is a time for us to come back into balance and harmony.
For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, the Summer Solstice is a time of celebration, of honoring the light and our connection to the Mother Earth and Father Sky. Every culture has festivals to honor this day and our ancestors around the earth built numerous monuments to commemorate this time. Not only that but, they also built huge bonfires on this day to celebrate their tangible connection to the vital power of the Sun. It’s a good time to remember that we, like the Sun, contain the power to nurture and sustain, and that we have a responsibility to burn as brightly as we can.
It is the time to invite fire into our lives fire to burn away all that we have outgrown and all that no longer serves us; fire that makes the wild things grow in us, for which our inner selves have longed.
Right now it is more important than ever to come together to amplify our own positive and healing energies. We live in a up-leveling world and we, like nature, are always evolving; shedding and blooming. This is the time of the year to reconnect to the light within ourselves so that we can move into the world as our strongest Self. This light is the essence of our being, and each one of us has a responsibility to share that light with the world. As the Earth moves through its cycles of darkness into light and back again, our souls move through a parallel journey. When the Sun rises to the highest point in the sky, we can be reminded of our own radiance, strength, and power to ascend to our fullest potential.

Join Dana for her first annual Summer Solstice Retreat at Mt. Madonna where we re-align, re-calibrate, and re-member who we are.
If you haven’t been to Mt. Madonna, the Center has always been a sacred space, from the early Native American Ohlone days to the Italian stone masons who saw the apparition of the Madonna in the forest. It’s a place of natural magic and power and a place of personal transformation where people can find their authentic selves through practice, study, community, and service.
During this week at Mt. Madonna, you’ll embark on a journey from dark to light, contraction to expansion, and experience a re-memberance of who you are and what you are here to offer toward the well-being of this planet.
Dana will lead you through ritual and ceremony specifically designed to usher the light within you to the surface. We’ll practice yoga, sing, meditate, dance and use every ounce of our bodies to re-align with our soul.
The weekend begins on Thursday evening with an opening ceremony and solstice ritual. Each morning we will take in a sunrise meditation followed by an invigorating yoga class. Class will be followed by a nourishing breakfast offered by Mt Madonna staff.
The land at Mt Madonna is very special so we do encourage daily quiet time. Dana Damara will also offer optional workshops each day that explore the various ways you can better align yourself with the pulse of Mother Earth at each turn of the wheel.
Mt. Madonna offers by appointment, various bodywork sessions. Dana also offers, by appointment, astrology readings and/or intuitive/Tarot readings. We recommend that you make any appointment ahead of time to ensure your session!
Afternoon sessions will include restorative practice, astrology sessions, and/or essential oils and crystals for optimal healing. Evenings will include rituals, ceremony, and community dinner. The final evening will be a celebration and a reflection of our weekend spent together.
